Parents in Egypt are powerless against the social stigma that their children with physical, mental or learning disabilities face. Finding the right facilities for their education and professional development can be extremely difficult, especially if they happen to live in disadvantaged areas.

Mada aims to expand inclusion for the 750,000 Egyptians with a disability through three initiatives:

  • Connecting people to organisations that offer adapted services around the world (medical centres, schools, etc.).
  • Providing parents and/or children with an online platform for discussion and for sharing experiences.
  • Building a recruitment network for qualified people with disabilities, as well as a network of experienced care providers.

Mada’s goal is to create a truly inclusive world, where everyone can develop and apply their skills.

Types of support

Mada won second prize at the Orange Egypt Social Venture Prize Africa and Middle East 2017. To support its expansion, the start-up took part in an incubation period in collaboration with partner NGO Injaz Egypt. It also received high-end equipment and access to Orange’s API services.
