Purchase of medicines makes up for a large part of family health expenditure in Senegal. In this context, the Jokkosanté web and mobile app brings the pharmacy to the community and family by constructing a circular economy around medicines.
Unused medicines can be deposited at health centers in exchange for points, which can then be cashed in for other medicines with a new prescription at a later day.
Jokkosanté also helps companies improve their social impact through a co-financing program that lets them finance the medicines of their choice.
Types of support
Jokkosanté was created by an engineer working for Sonatel, Orange’s subsidiary in Senegal, and is supported financially by the Orange group for its CSR work.
