Agriwatts is an application that protects farmers from the “loss after harvest” phenomenon that costs the economy US $5 million each year, and also from undignified sales conditions for women in markets such as Redlight, Duala and Waterside.
The app enables local farmers to produce more food responsibly, with the goal of making seasonal foods available year-round and the market more accessible and affordable for consumers, which will help reduce market prices in the long run. It will also create job opportunities for young people and index more than 20,000 market saleswomen in order to create a database and organise food distribution and sales through a simplified and user-friendly digittal interface.
