Launch of Orange Fab season 1, the first start-up accelerator in Madagascar

Orange Fab launched the first season of its start-up accelerator programme on 6 June 2019, with the aim of scaling up innovative companies who are enabling the country to progress.

Orange Fab Madagascar is the latest to join the network of 15 Orange Fabs already established around the world. Three start-ups have been selected for the first season (opens in a new window) out of more than twenty applications received:

For the next six months, business leaders, experts, coaches and investors will work with the entrepreneurs behind these inspiring start-ups. Events, workshops and training will be offered to help them develop their business. The Orange Fab co-working space will also enable them to work closely together and with the Orange ecosystem, and also collaborate with partners and customers as part of a professional, stimulating and convivial framework.

“Orange firmly believes that digital technology is a source of progress in Madagascar and can make everyday life easier. The country is also full of talent and dynamic entrepreneurship. Our ambition is simple – we’ll engage the best teams from Orange to help the most progressive innovations to reach as many people as possible.”
Michel Degland
CEO Orange Madagascar

The overall objective is that by the end of the acceleration programme, the product or service offered will be best-in class with the right strategic focus and business model, supported by a team with expert skills.
