Orange is launching its call for applications in October 2020 for the third season of its special FemmesEntrepreneuses (women entrepreneurs) programme, which will kick off in January 2021!
The Group supports 100 women entrepreneurs who have founded or co-founded start-ups, encouraging their business development and offering them personalised support throughout France. #FemmesEntrepreneuses is a tailor-made programme, built around the needs and expectations of businesswomen and combining a host of local resources with the strength of a large company ready to listen. Here’s an overview.
Two first editions already a success
More than 220 women have already received support from Orange throughout France and overseas during the first two seasons of FemmesEntrepreneuses. 44% have started a pure tech company, nearly 20% have a CSR interest and 27% own a lifestyle business.
Where are they based? 10% are from the Paris region, 7.5% from overseas, and the rest are split between large and small towns and rural regions.
For season 2, nearly 130 people were on hand to offer the best possible support.
#FemmesEntrepreneuses is firstly a community-based support network (excluding funding)
Through the programme, Orange aims to meet each businesswoman’s specific needs. Various forms of support are available:
They can work and connect at Orange sites close to where they live.
- One-off coaching
An Orange expert is available to tackle a specific problem or help them take their next business step.
- Discussion forum
They can pitch to an Orange team to practice their sales presentation, product or service or raising funds. Networking is encouraged on social networks, mainly via a closed LinkedIn group as well as Facebook and Twitter.
- Testing offers
They can test their offer “live” to customers in Orange shops during our Start-up Days.
#FemmesEntrepreneuses: local support
Selected start-ups can access various local Orange experts and skills, ranging from dedicated mentors to local workshops and events or networking with local Orange managers. Support is personalised and adapted to each founder’s needs.
The programme also offers targeted training and expertise that can help businesswomen enrich their managerial skills or knowledge (for example in AI and data, cybersecurity etc).
#FemmesEntrepreneuses: a full national and international programme of events
We host several networking opportunities during the kick-off and final phase of the programme. The Group partners with events such as Change Now and Viva Technology and so naturally invites its #FemmesEntrepreneuses along. They can also meet members of the Orange France management committee, which is committed to promoting female entrepreneurship.
