Applications are now open for the 2019 Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle East


Less than four months after we announced the 2018 winners, the call for candidates for the 2019 Orange Social Venture Prize is open from 11 March.

For your chance to be one of the three winners among the 51 start-ups who will be selected in 2018 from around the world, you’ll need to register before 30 May 2018. In addition to national prizes, winners will each receive €25,000, €15,000 and €10,000 and benefit from six month’s personal support from people who are experts in creating and funding young companies.

To enter the Orange Social Venture Prize, companies with innovative projects based on ICT that aim to improve living conditions for people in MEA (in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, mobile payments or sustainable development) need to meet the following criteria:

  • the applicant must be a student, employee or entrepreneur over the age of 21,
  • the initiative must be less than 3 years old,
  • the project must apply to Botswana, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Jordan, Liberia or Burkina-Faso.
